  2. Orientation Day 1 Reflection:

On day 1, I learnt that teamwork is one of the most important factor to succeed as a group. The games that we played taught me that working together as a group and listening to each others opinion is important. While playing the games, I also made lots of friends. At first, we just knew each other by names but as we talked more we started to know each other better.

  3. When I first stepped into SST the first day, I was a bit scared as I thought I was not going to meet any friends. But SST had proven me wrong the second I stepped into the school. The PSL were very friendly towards us. I made a lot of friends when I was playing the games they had prepared. It was AWESOME!

  4. The second day was even better. In the morning, we played a lot of teamwork games and the most memorable one was the egg drop. With the help of everyone, a 'capsule' and a 'parachute' was created for the egg before it was dropped 4 stories down. It survived the fall! In the afternoon, we set off to go for the high elements. At first I was scared of it. But after endless persuading by the PSL, I decided to try it and it turned out to be fun.

  5. Err sorry that this reflection post is so late. For day 1 i was a bit scared that i would not make any friends and missed my primary school friends a lot. However as i stepped into the ISH i saw a lot of PSL which were smiling and were very friendly. Through the class bonding games, i made new friends. At the end of the day i realised that SST would be a different experience from primary school and i was happy that i chose SST as my secondary school.

  6. day 2 it was better than day 1.As we planned on how to land the egg safely to the ground from 4 levels, i was a bit worried that we would fail.I wanted to take as little risks as possible so that the egg would not get 'injured'. I was a bit worried as i heard of the risks that we had to take. However the egg landed safely to the ground and i was really happy after that. As we did the high elements, i realised my fear of heights and i thought that i was going to die and wanted to get out of there as fast as i could. But then i remembered Joshua who was climbing up behind me and decided to cheer for him as that was the best that i could do after letting him down. After the first attempt i told myself that i head to conquer my fear and decided to try again.I walked on the wood bridge and tried to cross it as fast as i could. I rushed too fast and slipped. That was my second failed attempt. One day i am going to try that again and that time i will pass!

  7. Day 2 Orientation:

The second day of orientation was even better than the first day. That day, I learnt that thinking out of the box was important when we were trying to make a contraption so that the egg would fall from he fourth storey to the first without even cracking it. I was delighted to see that the egg was unscathed when it dropped to the ground in our parachute. Then there was the high element activity. Although I did not have the courage to go up, I helped by belaying throughout the activity. I felt worried when one off my friends fell but we managed to lower him down safely. I had fun during the day.

  8. Day 1 Orientation :
I was extremely nervous when I stepped into the school compound on the first day of school.
My heart was literally beating out of my chest.
The PSL sensed that I was tensed , I think, because they encouraged me to socialise and make more friends . I made 2 friends and from that moment onwards my friend circle started expanding .
SST has been real friendly to me .I had made many rewarding memories that day.

  9. Day 2 has been fun and rewarding
As mentioned I made many new friends today
The highlight of the day was the egg drop
In which the class had to brainstorm to create a device which could protect an egg from breaking
I find this activity fun and meaningful as I can help generate new ideas .Through this process I have also made new friends
The second highlight of Day 2 has to be the high elements event
I helped belay my friends while they did the high elements course
From this activity , I learnt to communicate and work with my friends
I look forward to Day 3 of orientation

    Cheers,

  10. I made many friends today through many meaningful activities .Most of the activities require us to work as a class and we have to use our heads to think a lot. It also required us to think out of the box, such as the activity on creating a class cheer. One of the activities that I like best is the one on flipping a mat over with the whole class standing on top. We could not think of any Ideas and when we did, we ran out of time.

  11. On day 3 orientation it was way better than the second day. We played a lot of games and some involves getting wet! But sadly we were slow and were unable to participate in the sponge fight. But anyway, the main activity was the amazing race and it was cool. We sort of have to play tic tac toe while we played the games. At last, we won first for both our amazing race and our overall achievements.

  12. On day 3 we did an amazing race and we won!:) We played lots of games which some of them made us wet.For every game that we win, we get a X or an O that we use to play tic tac toe. We need three Os to be in a straight line to win.We can use our Xs to block or sabo other teams which other teams did.Well anyway we still won!So i don;t really care now.The amazing race was an important part in winning and we got 98 points!Today really is a great day for S1-05.May we get more 'victories' in the future.Go S1-05!

  13. The first day I stepped into SST was scary for me as I am shy and thought that the PSLs was strict but instead, it was quite fun as the PSLs try to teach us moral values like teamwork which I have learnt. I have also learn many names with skittles. I had made some friends although some still do not know my name. One activity is dodgeball, the body guards have to protect the king, it showed moral values like teamwork as the bodyguards have to protect the king together.

The second day since I know the PSLs and friends are friendly, I did not feel so scared anymore. I had mainly because of the high element. I was one of the first to start climbing it. Although it took so long for waiting and had to change, I like that way the next one is lower. I was very scared but eventually faced my fear. I learnt that the high element is like life. If I gave up up there, I will never succeed and fail but I continued to move on and eventually succeed without giving up. The ropes are like obstacles in life.

The third day was the best day. It had much more fun then other days because of the amazing race. Well, we won the thing with two 1st places! I learnt to have teamwork with friends. It was so fun as we also get to bond even more with the class.
